<p>Due to the announcement on the 10th April 2013 that polling for the 13th General Election for Malaysia will be held on the 5th of May 2013, we the Organisers have made the decision to postpone Round 2 of MegaLAP ClubSPRINT 2013 to the 2nd of June 2013.</p>
<p>Our friends at BMW Motorrad (Thanks Fazli!) and Sepang International Circuit have been graceful to fully support this change.</p>

<p><strong>Track :</strong> Sepang Full Circuit<br />
<strong>Date :</strong> Sunday 5th May 2013<br />
<strong>Time :</strong> 1pm – 5pm<br />
<strong>Entry Fee :</strong> RM 400/SGD 160 + RM 100/SGD40 transponder deposit<br />
<strong>Club Discount:</strong> Minimum 10 cars RM 380/SGD 150 before 19 April (+ RM 100/SGD40 transponder deposit)</p>
<p>1) Pits will be available this time, we have checked and confirmed with Sepang early<br />
2) Schedule will revert to normal, meaning 1-hour Practice session, and 2 x 30-min timed sessions<br />
3) Main categories will remain, but with an exciting &#8220;marketing&#8221; name change as previously people were confused with the &#8220;2500&#8243; and &#8220;Above 2500&#8243; terms:<br />
- The &#8216;ClubSPRINT 2500&#8242; category will now be known as &#8216;ClubSPRINT North Pole&#8217;<br />
- The &#8216;ClubSPRINT Above 2500&#8242; category will now be known as &#8216;ClubSPRINT Rocco&#8217;<br />
- Minimum of 8 starters is required, or the category may be cancelled<br />
4) Regulations have no change, ClubSPRINT 2013 is limited to DOT-approved Street-tyres only. The tyre exclusion list is further below.</p>
<p>Closing date for Club categories registration is 19 April 2013.<br />
Confirmation/Registration by payment on first come first serve basis.<br />
Slots are non-refundable but can be transferred or deferred to the next Ignition.my event.</p>
<p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Regulations for Categories</span></strong><br />
<em><strong>North Pole</strong></em> – Normally Aspirated Non-VTEC up to 2500cc; Forced Induction up to 1500cc; VTEC up to 1600cc; no supercars or rear-engined cars.<br />
<em><strong>Rocco</strong></em> – All drive and engine layouts and types; no supercars or rear-engined cars.<br />
<em><strong>Campro</strong> </em>– Limited to the Proton CAMPRO series engines only.<strong></strong><em><strong><br />
4G1x</strong></em> – Limited to the Proton 4G1x series engines only.<br />
<em><strong>CVT &amp; Auto</strong></em> – Automatic and CVT Transmission, Normally Aspirated OEM engine up to 2000cc. The gearbox transmission must be an OEM production transmission ie no sequential aftermarket specials.</p>
<p>o <em>Guest ClubSPRINT categories - </em>these are any categories that are subscribed to on a Group basis:<br />
Minimum of 10 participants required; trophies up to 5th position will be provided;<br />
For sub-categories a minimum of 6 participants per sub-category is required, for a minimum of 3 trophies provided. A minimum of 10 participants is required to provide trophies up to 5th position in the sub-category</p>
<p>• <strong>Open category:</strong> any vehicle running on Semi-slick tyres that are in the list of semi-slick tyres. Slick tyres are not permitted.</p>

<p><strong>The good news:</strong> The ClubSPRINT Time Attack has exceeded all expectations, with 120 cars participating, and more than half from car Clubs that are excited to be able to challenge their friends head-to-head in a friendly environment! Sadly, due to over-subscription we have not been able to accommodate all Clubs and Organisations that registered. We really hope that you guys will get a chance during the next round on 5th May.</p>
<p>And now, <strong>the not so good news:</strong> we were just informed yesterday evening that Super GT are testing in Sepang throughout this week, and that from Sunday onwards it&#8217;ll then be MotoGP testing for 2 weeks. And therefore, this weekend all but 6 pits will be taken up by SuperGT and MotoGP.</p>

<p>We have discussed this issue with Sepang, and they agreed to try and make it more comfortable for our event: they will allow access to the air-conditioned Common Rooms behind pits 28-33 as well as some of the gazebo rooms behind the pit building for our use.</p>
<p>However, <em><strong>cars will need to be parked at the Paddock P5.</strong></em> Please refer to the diagram below, We have divided up the area with post metal barriers with some signage for each category.</p>
<p>This isn&#8217;t as problematic as it may seem, as we have also adjusted the Schedule to accommodate these changes. Thus, there will be a single 1-hour timed session for each category, rather than 2 x 30 minute sessions. Effectively this is more track time, as it&#8217;s actually 2 x 25 mins, and this will now be 1 x 55 mins. It&#8217;s also means less movement of the cars.</p>
<p><strong>REGISTRATION &amp; DRIVER&#8217;S BRIEFING</strong></p>
<p>Registration starts at the Media Centre at 12:30pm, and the Driver&#8217;s Briefing will be conducted at 2:00pm at the same place. The briefing is compulsory, for us to inform you of how the event will run.</p>
<p><strong>USAGE OF THE PITS</strong></p>
<p>The 6 pits that are allocated to us will be used for Drive-Thru Scrutineering and Staging for each Session, and <em>ONLY VEHICLES THAT ARE RUNNING WITHIN THE CURRENT SESSION ARE PERMITTED TO USE THE PITS.</em></p>
<p>If it is NOT your Session, then you will be asked to please exit the pit and permit other participants that are running to be able to use it. Please be considerate to others.</p>

<p><strong>TRAFFIC ROUTE</strong></p>
<p>We have had to make some alternative plans and traffic routing. We are requested to not drive behind or in-front of the pits where the MotoGP teams are setting up, and these areas will be blocked off. Please refer the plan beow on how that works.</p>
<p><strong>ROOMS ALLOCATIONS</strong></p>
<p>There are 3 Common Rooms, and they are allocated as follows:<br />
Team Common Room 13 (behind pits 28/29): RS Colectif<br />
Team Common Room 14 (behind pits 30/31): Forte<br />
Team Common Room 15 (behind pits 32/33): VW Club</p>
<p>The other categories please make yourself at home in the gazebo rooms behind the Pit Building.</p>
<p>The decision above is without prejudice: it&#8217;s pure numbers.</p>
<p><strong>PADDOCK ACCESS</strong></p>
<p>All participating cars are provided with Paddock passes for 2 pax – 1 for the driver, another for crew/gf/wife/3rd wife. Additional spectators pass is RM 10.00 each, these are sold at the entrance.</p>

o <em>General ClubSPRINT categories</em>:-<br />
<em><strong>2500</strong></em> – Normally Aspirated Non-VTEC up to 2500cc; Forced Induction up to 1500cc; VTEC up to 1600cc; no supercars or rear-engined cars.<br />
<em><strong>Above 2500</strong></em> – All drive and engine layouts and types; no supercars or rear-engined cars.<br />
<em><strong>Campro / 4G1x</strong></em> – Limited to the Proton CAMPRO and Proton 4G1x series engines only.<br />
<em><strong>CVT &amp; Auto</strong></em> – Automatic and CVT Transmission, Normally Aspirated OEM engine up to 2000cc. The gearbox transmission must be an OEM production transmission ie no sequential aftermarket specials.<br />
o <em>Guest ClubSPRINT categories - </em>these are any categories that are subscribed to on a Group basis:<br />
Minimum of 10 participants required; trophies up to 5th position will be provided;<br />
For sub-categories a minimum of 6 participants per sub-category is required, for a minimum of 3 trophies provided. A minimum of 10 participants is required to provide trophies up to 5th position in the sub-category</p>

<p>A quick update:</p>
<p>1) Yes, the regs are on the way. Should be out within the next day or two. For now:<br />
- Confirm that Federal 595RS-R tyres will be classified as Street tyres for 2013 series.<br />
- Confirm that the general ClubSPRINT categories will be there, with some slight tweaks to broaden the classifications and entries, and maybe a name change. NA 2.5L, VTEC/FI/Above 2.5L, Campro+4G1x, CVT+Auto.</p>
<p>2) We are able to announce that the following Clubs have confirmed their participation, thus creating their own club categories:<br />
- VolvoRacer Club: they were there are MegaLAP Pasir Gudang! No, please don&#8217;t call them soccer-mom transports. These boys and their cars are <em>fast</em>!<br />
-  VAG Club: VWs and Audis, with 2 sub-categories &#8211; Below 1.4L, and Above 1.4L<br />
- Lancer GT Club: Their first outing was at MegaLAP Night Edition last December, in the rain at Sepang. Think about that for a moment. These guys are <em>hardcore</em>!<br />
- 4G1x: Yep, a whole bunch are coming! This is definitely exciting!</p>
<p>3) Awaiting confirmation (they need the minimum 10 cars participating):<br />
- Jazz Club: they had a big track day last year, and are very interested in MegaLAP<br />
- Altezza Club: they also had a big track day last year..<br />
- City Club: trying to find the numbers<br />
- Forte Club: ditto. Definitely interesting!<br />
- Subaru Club: are you guys coming??<br />
- Renault RS Collectif: a horde of Megane RS and Clio RS *slurps!*</p>
<p>The above Clubs have contacted us, and are trying to build the numbers. Hope your members can see what a great opportunity this is, and support the initiative! Closing date to register Clubs is next week!</p>
